Toiles and Toiles

Hexagons!!!  I think I need an antidote - so after sorting through my stash I selected a more modern toile-like fabric with a Japanese theme in browns, soft golds and cream.  I found a simple tile block that combines in sets of 4.  While the combination of fabrics I picked out all work nicely together - the result was a bit dull!!  I needed something to 'jazz it up'.  I found a piece of multi-coloured Alexander Henry  fabric called 'Marigold' which makes the combination much more interesting.....

Now, as often is the case I don't have enough of feature fabric to cut the required number of 5 1/2 inch squares - so what if I added in a soft gold Toile ....  but still not enough!!! so added some cream tone-on-tone to give me the required number of squares -120 for lap size quilt.   I also need to use a range of browns,  so here is an opportunity to add in a dark brown Toile and some other browns.
The final combination ....

This is a simple design, quick and easy to string piece. Precision with the piecing really helps when it comes to putting the blocks together -  much easier!!!  Now how to finish the top - a border?  and in what fabric?
