Quilting the French General

I felt like getting back to some free motion quilting today after spending a lot of time appliqueing over the last week or so.  I started with the French General Trip around the World .....  I could have ditched it but then I thought of something more interesting and no marking.......

The design is called 'pumpkin seed'  and its easy!!!  I'm pleased with the end result.  The quilting adds an extra dimension of interest to this little piece.    Next up it's the Zebras!

  1. The quilting certainly does add dimension to your French General block. It looks terrific.

You will be pleased to know that I have done all of the machine applique on the tile block with monofilament on top, and it looks great. I'm very happy with it. I have also quilted the machine reverse applique block and and will try to get the hand turned reversed applique quilted this week too.

I have managed to source the free motion foot and am hoping it will turn up soon. I have been successful in buying a downloadable pdf document of the User manual for my machine too. So, I am all go this week. I also found a flatbed made from perspex for my machine...it cost $49 plus postage...total=$119...NO THANKS. Surely there will be one available in Australia soon but what a great idea someone has come up with, making flatbeds from perspex to fit a number of machines.

    See you Monday
    Cheers
    Debra
