Lest We Forget Challlenge

Earlier this year decided to participate in the 'Lest We Forget' Challenge organised by Expertise Events ... 100 years, 100 quilts which are being displayed at Craft and Quilt Fairs around Australia.

So I sent off my 10 inch square  piece to be part of the display.  This week I was asked to do an interview with a local newspaper to promote the upcoming Canberra Quilt Show, which turned out to be quite fun.    The journalist arrived with a tiny GoPro camera and set it up just behind my sewing machine and took photos from that angle!!  I'm looking forward to seeing the result next week!!!

Anyway here's the piece I made. I combined images of my father in his army uniform.  He was in an artillery unit in WW2  and served in the Middle East and PNG ... so I used one of his photo's of an artillery gun and an image of his Pacific Star Service Medal .....

Dedicated the piece to my Dad!
