Another UFO .... off the List!!

This week I finally made the backing for the Blue Gardenia quilt top that's been sitting in the cupboard for I don't know how long ......    The Gardenia design was a free pattern put out by one of the fabric companies and is a lovely combination of appliqued circles of various sizes set on a base of squares.  I've made it before in neutrals and this version uses a range of Japanese blue and beige fabrics.

The left over strips were joined together and bordered with strips of a plain beige, a patchwork print
and a ticking stripe to make the backing ...

The beige ticking stripe looks very pale at this stage,  with the addition of quilting in a blue thread  the back will look more unified.

Here is a shot of the front and backing together.....

Quilt top and back are packed up ready to go to Pamela Rouse (La Maison Quilting) for quilting .......
